Please note: This website is under construction, but will give shortly seven fairly easy hikes that can be down-loaded free of charge. The idea is that hikers and tourists intending to come to Hong Kong can get an idea what the 'real' Hong Kong (not the high-rises and the shopping districts) looks like. Some 70% of Hong Kong is farmland and countryside, and more than 42% is protected under the Countryparks Ordinance.

It will be possible to down-load specific books electronically by e-commerce by the end of May 2000.

Important:

New-comers to Hong Kong and inexperienced hikers are strongly recommended to hike with a local experienced guide.

The Hong Kong Tourist Association (HKTA) is strongly promoting the countryside and Nature Walks at present. The Guided Nature Walks programme is one of the highlights. The programme features five of the territory's most captivating hikes. All are led by very experienced guides and guidebook authors including the author of the Magic Walks books, Kaarlo Schepel.

The Guided Nature Walks leaflet is available free from the HKTA Visitor Information & Services Centres or through the HKTA's award-winning City of Life website; www.hkta.org. You may also contact the above company through the listed numbers and e-mail address.
